Case Study - Ordering

Our Client created product orders in-store, but with the previous provider was relying on paper order forms which were telephoned through.  This was slow, inefficient and was prone to errors. For example, old forms were continually being used.

The requirement was to order electronically using the eXPD8 handhelds.  To achieve this, the eXPD8 order creation application was used, which in summary entails;

Provision by the client of product ranging by fixture.

  • Maintenance of a store / space database by eXPD8.
  • Creation of an order file specific to each store, which is transmitted to eXPD8 handheld.
  • The eXPD8 ordering application enables easy product searching and order entry.
  • The function has a facility to view an order summary and capture and store signature as authorisation.
  • When the order data is synchronised centrally, it is sent automatically overnight to the client's warehouse

 The primary outcome was a substantial improvement in availability and of sales.  In addition, stock holding was reduced, and there were efficiency gains in order creation hours.  Ordering is one of the many field marketing services which eXPD8 offers it's clients.
