The Toy Fair is the only dedicated toy, games and hobby trade event in the UK.
As a Mother of a 9 year old Son, I thought I was quite up-to-date with the world of toys… and then I entered this magical arena full of 200+ exhibitors displaying their best and latest toys and at this stage realised my knowledge was nowhere near as good as I thought!
Knowing where to start became my first challenge, so I headed for one of the many coffee stations armed with my ‘Visitor planner’ and ‘Daily News’ – yes, they produce a daily newspaper everyday throughout the 3 day event! I decided to head to a stand of one of eXPD8’s Clients, Schleich, where I met the National Account Manager that eXPD8 are currently working with on a piece of merchandising activity. It was great to get some feedback from her about our current activity, but also to hear her views on the Toy Fair; all very positive and 3 days of great conversations for them!
For the next few hours, I wondered, looked, touched, chatted and even played… obtaining a great feel for this sector that is clearly extremely very innovative and creative.
The huge number of different toys was quite overwhelming; it’s therefore a great opportunity as a potential retailer to attend this event, talk to the exhibitors and really understand the target market for the different toys to ensure you are stocking the ‘key’ toys and games for 2016.
Overall, a magical day out in London and plenty of ideas to ‘play’ with as Business Development Manager of eXPD8!
