The 28th April is annual World Health and Safety Day which promotes the prevention of occupational accidents globally. It is an awareness-raising campaign intended to focus international attention on the magnitude of the problem and on how promoting and creating a safety and health culture can help reduce the number of work-related deaths and injuries.
During the 2015/16 tax year 30.4 million working days were lost in Great Britain due to work-related illness and workplace injury, so putting measures in place to minimise the risks is crucial in any business.
eXPD8 take health and safety very seriously. We’re extremely proud of the fact that all of our staff are permanent employees with a signed, written contract and each and every one of them, full time or part time, are put through a detailed induction programme. The induction covers health and safety policy, good working practices, fire safety, first aid, accident reporting procedures, manual handling, risk assessment, and many other areas including the correct use of in store equipment by our field employees.
We continually monitor new health and safety legislation and requirements to ensure we’re doing everything we can to keep our people in a safe and welcoming environment at all times.
