A job that works for you: Life at eXPD8

Trying to find a job that fits around your life can be a challenge… everyone has different commitments, whether that’s family, study, another job or simply needing work that feels manageable. At eXPD8, we understand that one size doesn’t fit all, which is why flexibility and people come first.

Flexible working patterns that fit real life

Each role has core hours, and we focus on agreeing working patterns that reflect when you are able to work. That might mean certain days of the week or specific times of day.  At eXPD8, flexibility is about how you work, not just how many hours you do.

We’re in-store 7 days a week so if you prefer weekend hours to boost your income, that’s not a problem. We also have shifts that start early and finish late which suits some people perfectly. There are often opportunities to pick up extra hours too, especially during busier seasonal periods, so if you want to increase your hours and earnings at certain times, you can.

With roles available across the UK, our colleagues are able to work close to home, cutting down travel time and making their days that bit easier.  Whether you’re a working parent, a carer, a student, semi-retired, looking for a career in retail, or anything in between, we have roles to suit. The goal is simple, work should fit around your life, not add pressure to it.

People first, always

The people who work for eXPD8 are what make the business what it is. From your first day, you are equipped, trained and supported.. Our managers are there to guide you, answer questions and help you build confidence in your role.

You will stay in regular contact with your District Leader and Regional Field Manager, so you always know who to turn to for support. We believe that when people feel listened to and valued, they do their best work. At eXPD8, your voice matters and your efforts do not go unnoticed.

Learning and growing with eXPD8

Learning does not stop once you have completed your induction, we want colleagues to feel confident, capable and able to grow. Our induction programme helps you settle in from day one, while our e-learning platform, eDUK8, gives you access to more than 250 learning modules.

We use the ‘70-20-10 approach to learning’, which means most development happens through real, hands-on experience, supported by learning from others and more structured training. This allows you to develop in a way that feels practical and relevant, whether you want to progress further or simply feel more confident in what you do.

Benefits that support you

We offer a range of benefits designed to support your wellbeing, including flexible holiday paya contributory pension scheme and a reward and recognition programme that celebrates great work. Our colleagues are also able to draw down pay early, giving you more control over your money and some extra flexibility when you need it. Colleagues also have access to health and wellbeing support, including financial advice, grants and online resources via GroceryAid.

We are proud to be recognised by the Financial Times as one of the UK’s Best Employers 2025, but what truly matters most to us is creating an environment where colleagues feel respected, listened to and valued every day.

If you are looking for a role with flexible working patterns, supportive managers and a genuinely people-first culture, eXPD8 could be the right fit for you.
