Renewing Our Commitment to Disability Inclusion: eXPD8’s Disability Confident Leader Status

Renewing Our Commitment to Disability Inclusion: eXPD8’s Disability Confident Leader Status

At eXPD8, we are committed to ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to succeed at work, regardless of disability. That’s why we are proud to announce the renewal of our Disability Confident Leader status for another three years, lasting until 2028.

The Disability Confident scheme, developed by the UK Government, provides a structured framework for employers to remove barriers, support disabled employees, and increase understanding of disability in the workplace. As a Disability Confident Leader, we don’t just apply these principles within our own business. We actively encourage and support others to do the same.

Our Commitment to Disability Inclusion

At eXPD8, we work continuously to ensure that inclusion is embedded in everything we do. Our approach focuses on two core areas:

  • Recruiting the right people by making sure our hiring processes are inclusive and accessible. This ensures we attract and retain the best talent, regardless of disability.
  • Supporting and developing our colleagues through ongoing training, tailored adjustments, and career development opportunities. Everyone should have the chance to thrive in their role.

Maintaining our Disability Confident Leader status is a company-wide effort. We are proud of the collaboration between our HR, Learning & Development, Recruitment, Field Managers, and Marketing teams, who work together to build a culture of awareness, accessibility, and inclusivity. Our goal is to not only meet but exceed the expectations of the scheme.

Making Accessibility a Reality: A Personal Perspective

Understanding workplace accessibility isn’t just about policies. It’s about real people and their experiences.

“In 2022, I was diagnosed with T4 syndrome, a rare condition that affects the nerves in my arms and hands, making it difficult, sometimes impossible to use a mouse or keyboard. It’s a challenge that could has significantly impacted my ability to work, thanks to the Access to Work scheme, I’ve been provided with specialist equipment that enables me to continue performing my role effectively. More importantly, the support I’ve received from eXPD8 has been invaluable, ensuring that I can work without compromising my well-being, take breaks when I need to.

This experience has reinforced the importance of workplace accessibility. When businesses proactively remove barriers, they empower individuals to contribute their skills and talents without limitation. At eXPD8, we are committed to ensuring that every colleague, regardless of disability, has access to the support, tools, and opportunities they need to succeed.”

Championing Change Beyond Our Business

As a Disability Confident Leader, we take our role as a champion of disability inclusion seriously. We actively share best practices, encourage other businesses to become Disability Confident, and challenge outdated attitudes about disability in the workplace. Our goal is to make a meaningful impact, not just within eXPD8 but across the broader business community.

We are incredibly proud of this renewal, but our work doesn’t stop here. We remain committed to improving, learning, and leading by example to create a truly inclusive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
