Celebrating International Women’s Day at eXPD8

We are proud to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) and pay tribute to the incredible contributions of the women who make up a significant portion of our workforce at eXPD8.

At eXPD8, we believe in the power of equality and inclusivity. International Women’s Day serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of recognising and honouring the invaluable contributions of women in every sphere of life – from the workplace to the home, from communities to the global stage.

With well over a century of history and change, the first International Women’s Day (IWD) was held in March 1911. This year’s theme, ‘#InspireInclusion’, resonates deeply with our values as we strive to create a business where every woman can thrive, lead, and succeed without limitations. We are committed to fostering an environment that empowers and uplifts women, both within our company and beyond.

The eXPD8 team throwing up their heart-gestures!

We are proud to have a business that is headed up by a female Managing Director and where:

  • 81% of the workforce are women
  • 71% of the Leadership Team are women
  • 79% of Field Management colleagues are women
  • 77% of the top quartile earners are women

We have invited our colleagues from across the business to strike the #InspireInclusion pose and have an opportunity to have their say.

“As one of several women on the Leadership Team, I am proud to stand as a testament to the progress we’ve made in fostering diversity and inclusion. Being a woman in business has provided me with a unique perspective, emphasising collaboration, empathy, and resilience.
I am grateful to be part of a company who values the skills and qualities women bring to the table, and a company who is taking steps in the right direction when it comes to equal pay, part-time working and recently, the new menopause policy.
As a nation, there is still more to do to eradicate issues around pregnancy and maternity, equal pay, family-friendly working, childcare, part-time working, recruitment, bullying and harassment and redundancy. Today, I celebrate the achievements of all women in the workforce and acknowledge the importance of continued efforts to ensure equal opportunities for everyone.”

Suze Anderson, Marketing & Communications Director, eXPD8

“As women have progressed into leadership positions, greater attention has been given to valuing people within businesses. Causation or correlation, that’s up for debate but I think a good leader in the 2020s values and needs a lot more traditionally ‘feminine’ traits: authenticity, collaboration, empathy and inclusivity. My advice to other women is to value your own voice. A disproportionate number of women have imposter syndrome but your expertise, your opinions, your ideas matter. Once you get over the hurdle of doubting yourself, you’ll achieve more than you thought you could.”Hayley Perry – L&D Manager, eXPD8

Early in my career, I worked in the Steel Industry, and this was a very male-dominated environment. However, I did have a manager who I felt became a role model to me. She showed me what good leadership should look like and the positive impact it can have on others.  She taught me that you never stop learning and when you learn, you grow and through this growth you can teach others by your example. Having this strong role model so early in my career really influenced my wish to become a business leader and to drive change in strategic roles. In my role as HR Business Partner at eXPD8, I am proud to be part of a leadership team that is 70% female and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where all our colleagues feel they can be themselves, thrive in their roles and grow in their careers. Last year we reported a 0% median pay gap for the sixth consecutive year and introduced a Periods and Menopause Wellbeing Policy to support colleagues in the business which we continue to promote through up-skilling our management team.” – Kelly Duncan, HR Business Partner, eXPD8

We take great pride in honouring the remarkable contributions of the women who form an integral part of our workforce at eXPD8.

Let’s continue to champion gender equality and create a world where every woman can thrive.

Happy International Women’s Day!
